Today we want to share a cause close to our hearts: Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).

RMHC is a large part of Canada’s pediatric health care system. The not-for-profit organization offers families a home away from home when their sick child receives treatment in hospital. The homes provide a safe place for parents and siblings to connect with other families going through similar experiences.

No parent wants to learn their child is sick and must be hospitalized.  Lives can be turned upside-down in an instant with a life-changing diagnosis.  RMHC can support families on their new journey by making the new normal a little easier.

According to a 2018 study conducted by RBC Economic Impact, RMHC programs saved families roughly $49 million in out-of-pocket expenses including food and lodging.

Metrospec owners have supported RMHC for many years, and we wanted to enlighten our community to this charity which lightens the load from the shoulders of parents during stressful times.

Fun fact: since 1981 RMHC has supported more than 387,000 families in what is a growing number everyday.
